Introduction To Morbit
What is Morbit?
Morbit is a fictional universe with multimedia projects, including comics, interactive quests/adventures, indie games (in development), and a growing roleplaying community. It’s ultimately a passion project, founded by Ringor Mortis and Comorant and developed by the Homebrew Deviants team. Morbit was made to be a creative sandbox, where the world’s limits and rules are loose, providing tons of freedom for both the official team and fans to work in. We encourage fan participation, interaction, and creative works, and have a growing community on Discord! We love new followers of our universe, but be warned, this universe is rated 16+ overall, with multiple 18+/NSFW projects. Morbit is our passion, but it may not be ideal for you- there’s a list of content warnings at the end of this introduction, so please check that before you look further into our projects.
Who makes it?
The official team for the Morbit universe is the Homebrew Deviants, a group of content creators dedicated to making projects people can connect to and be invested in. Much of our work comes from personal places, and to work on this as our career is our biggest goal. We welcome fan participation in the universe and its projects, and love developing its systems and lore with your help and feedback! To get involved, you can read our worldbuilding posts, follow the team and its members on social media to see concepts and ideas as they’re developed, suggest in our quests and adventures, join our official Discord server, or pledge to our Patreon for access to our exclusive Discord channel- full of early access content and sneak previews.
Why do we make it?
One goal of Morbit is to make media we’d like to see ourselves, as well as honest, genuine representation. Morbit is a sandbox setting with room for exploring both hard and lighthearted topics, as well as a multitude of genres, settings, and characters. We put our all into our projects, often including elements based on our own lives and the people around us. We hope that talking about real life problems and experiences helps people, and brings them together.
Overarching Themes
Morbit has a lot of overarching themes that are prominent in many of our projects, based on things we find important to portray in media. Identity is a massive focus in our projects, as well as the natural diversity of people. Neurodivergence and disability are personal to the team, and are visible in a good chunk of our characters. Trauma is something rarely tackled in ways that doesn’t feel exploitative in media, and we strive to take it on honestly. The concept of monsters, what makes one a monster and how society perceives them comes up frequently, especially when linked to trauma and how the disabled are treated. Love, family, life and death are strong, core themes- and we want to show both the positive and negatives of life, as well as everything in between. We hope you enjoy how we write this content, especially in a unique horror/modern high fantasy setting.
Content Warnings
Morbit is rated 16+ due to its heavy influences in horror, albeit cartoonish, as well as its tackling of heavy themes and potentially upsetting content. Trauma, all kinds of abuse, drugs, horror based transformation, stylized body horror and gore, and suggestive content are some things you’ll need to watch out for, and if any of those upset you, Morbit may not be for you. Some projects are rated 18+ for heavy gore, body horror and sexual elements, and are not for minors! Stay safe, read individual project warnings and tread carefully!
